Calling all actors, dancers, and singers! Our very own San Leandro High drama department is excited to announce auditions for this year’s musical production of “The Addams Family!” The eerie and quirky Addams family is brought to life in a way that will make your head spin in this hilarious musical. Here’s your chance to be part of this ghoulishly delightful show! “The Addams Family” is a Broadway musical comedy that tells the story of Wednesday Addams, now all grown up and in love with a “normal” boy. With unforgettable characters like Gomez, Morticia, Pugsly, and Grandma Addams, this production is guaranteed to be full of laughs, great music, and exciting roles for everyone.
Auditions will be held on December 16, 17 and 18 after school in the AEC. Monday the 16th will be vocal auditions. Interested actors will be asked to prepare a 30-60 second cut of a broadway or musical-like song. On Tuesday, dance auditions will be held and interested actors are asked to come dressed comfortably and ready to learn choreography and dance. Wednesday will be callbacks and prospective actors will read some lines and sing some more songs. Not everyone will get a call back but that does not mean they are cut! The drama department is requesting the all interested actors prepare and have ready their conflict calendars from January through March, 2025.
People who are not fans of the spotlight, can come and give crew a try! These positions include stage managers, deck crew, makeup or costume crew.
