Club and Academy Announcements
This week is the start of Intimate Partner Violence Awareness Month, and the Social Justice Academy invites everyone to take action, learn how to build safe, respectful relationships, and to stand in solidarity with victims and survivors.
Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) is when someone uses hurtful or controlling behaviors like physical harm, threats, insults, or control against the person they’re dating or in a relationship with. IPV includes both dating and domestic violence, and sadly, 1 in 3 teens in the U.S. experiences dating abuse.
Each day at lunch in the Quad, join us to pick up purple ribbons, bracelets, stickers, and take part in activities to show support for survivors and victims and make a commitment to ending violence. On Friday, don’t miss the big lunchtime event in the Quad, it is a time to come together, learn, and heal as a community.
Black Student Union is holding elections Tuesday September 30 at lunch in room 216. Meet the candidates and vote.
Do you want to make an impact in our community? Interested in government and politics? Come to IGNITE’s first general meeting TODAY at lunch located in Mr. Green’s class in room 210. We will also provide donuts to students who come to the meeting! See you then.
