A couple of weeks ago, Margo, the Turtle of the Pond, went missing from her home on the third floor of the science building. Usually, you can find the beloved red-eared slider in the science deck garden in her pond, but it is suspected that she was stolen since her enclosure was tampered with.
Margo is essential to her pond’s ecosystem as the keystone species and a top predator, and Eco Club is counting on her return — they are offering a $100 reward for anyone who has any information that leads to her coming home.
Mr. Gordon, the Eco Club adviser, wants to stress the importance of not letting students out on the science deck without supervision.
“Unfortunately, when students are unsupervised, these sorts of things happen,” said Gordon.
