Whenever I want to get together with my friends and go karaoke, I will go to the Golden Lounge KTV. I will always first make a stop at the Ume Tea right around the corner to get some boba and snacks to get myself ready, full and hydrated before singing my favorite songs. On my most recent visit, as I passed the door I smelled the aroma from the BBQ next to the karaoke place, which made me decide to have BBQ skewers for dinner. Walking through the hallway passing one door and another, I could hear people singing and shouting together with joy. Immediately, I got infected by the happiness.
The Golden Lounge KTV (karaoke), located at 6006 Stevenson Blvd in Fremont, is a great karaoke destination in the Bay Area to go with family and friends. With 19 luxurious, spacious, and comfortable private rooms, it allows for parties of various sizes to host celebrations and gatherings. There’s also a vast selection of songs in multiple languages including Chinese, English, Korean, and Japanese. The vibrant lighting and decor create the perfect atmosphere for karaoke enthusiasts, making the experience both enjoyable and unforgettable.
The room pricing is:
small room : $50/hour. 2-5 people; (Small room can’t reserve, first come first serve) medium room: $80/hour. 6-8 people;
Large room : $120/hours. 9-15 people ;
VIP room : $180/hours 16-35 people (VIP need to pay $200 deposit in store or online. )
I chose this place to go to for a couple of reasons. It is located in The Globe Mall, which offers nearby food options such as BBQ, Hunan cuisine, sushi, Korean food, and boba drinks. Also, it opens earlier than any other karaoke place in the Bay Area. It opens at 5 p.m. and closes at 2 a.m. everyday. As a person with a curfew, it’s the perfect timing for me.
Personally, the song selection is sufficient because I mostly sing Chinese songs, and they have a large variety for me to select from. The downside for me is that there might not be as many options for English songs or updated and newer artists to choose from, such as popular singers like SZA. However, they have songs from other popular artists like Ariana Grande or Taylor Swift. Another disadvantage is that it could be a bit pricey. But if you’re going with more friends and you split the bill among friends, it will be a more reasonable cost.
Compared with other karaoke places I’ve been to, the sound quality in this place is generally not as good in the same price range and they don’t have as large of a song selection. However, the small room in the golden lounge has wider space compared to other places and a better service attitude. With the restaurant next door which connects with the Golden Lounge, there’s more food choices on the menu. It’s my go to place whenever I want to sing. I’ll rate this place a 3.5/5.
