PIRATESSSSSSSS! Get excited, because the SLHS Olympics are back! The Olympics is a week-long event where students and staff make teams and compete in fun, competitive games during lunch. SLHS Olympic packets are now available in room 215! Pick up your packets and begin creating your teams! Packets are due March 13th and games will occur March 24-27th.
Juniors and Seniors! Are you interested in being a Camp Counselor for James Madison’s science camp? Email Ms. King at jking@slusd or Come to Ms. King’s Room 215 to learn more! Forms will be due by Tuesday, March 24.
Calling all students! Help feed our worms! Bring organic waste (leaves, apple cores, orange and banana peels) to Mr. Gordon’s room (345) and bury them in the bins. No dairy or meat, please! Drop-offs are welcome daily. Worms love that!
Help reduce waste! If you have whole, unopened food items you won’t eat, please place them in the designated cafeteria baskets, leave them on the dining table, or share them with a friend.
College and Career Announcements
Seniors! Have you submitted your San Leandro Scholarship application? You can scan the code on one of the flyers or come by the College and Career Center. Turning in this one form makes you eligible for hundreds of local scholarships through the San Leandro Scholarship Foundation. The last day to apply is March 31st!
Seniors, March is Scholarship Month! You can earn free money for college by applying for scholarships. There are currently scholarships for students who are Hispanic, African American, Asian, work longer hours, or are in financial need. Look at the Scholarship list on our school website under College and Career or come by the CCC to get more information on scholarships. Most are due by the end of March, so apply soon!

ECO Club Presents a school-wide litter campaign, pick up pieces of litter and tag @ecoclub.slhs on instagram and refer to it to learn more for a chance to win a $50 gift card!
Love to sing? Join Notables, our select vocal group! Auditions are April 1st right after school in the Black Box. Prepare a 60–90 second school-appropriate song that shows your talent. Come ready to sing and show us what you’ve got! we’ll see you there!
