PIRATESSSSSSSS! Get excited, because the SLHS Olympics are back! The Olympics is a week-long event where students and staff make teams and compete in fun, competitive games during lunch! Games will occur March 24-27th.
Juniors and Seniors! Are you interested in being a Camp Counselor for James Madison’s science camp? Email Ms. King at jking@slusd or Come to Ms. King’s Room 215 to learn more! Forms will be due by Tuesday, March 24.
Pirates, have you noticed the Share Table posters in the lunchroom? Please help us reduce food waste in the cafeteria. Place only whole, unopened food items on the cafeteria table. Let’s take care of the natural resources and our community. Thank you for doing your part!
College and Career Announcements
Seniors! Have you submitted your San Leandro Scholarship application? You can scan the code on one of the flyers or come by the College and Career Center. Turning in this one form makes you eligible for hundreds of local scholarships through the San Leandro Scholarship Foundation. The last day to apply is March 31st!
Seniors, March is Scholarship Month! You can earn free money for college by applying for scholarships. There are currently scholarships for students who are Hispanic, African American, Asian, work longer hours, or are in financial need. Look at the Scholarship list on our school website under College and Career or come by the CCC to get more information on scholarships. Most are due by the end of March, so apply soon!
Seniors, the application for Laney College and the other Peralta colleges (Merritt, College of Alameda, and Berkeley City) is now open! Come to the College and Career Center to get help applying and to finish your financial aid applications. Apply soon so that you will get your pick of classes and programs!
Club and Academy Announcements
The Spring Musical, “The Little Mermaid” will play in the AEC March 20-22 and 27-29. Join us for some “Under the Sea” fun!
Calling all students! Help feed our worms! Bring organic scraps, such as green leaves, apple cores, or orange and banana peels, to Mr. Gordon’s room (345) and bury them in the bins. No dairy or meat, please! Drop-offs are welcome daily. Worms love that!
ECO Club presents a school-wide litter campaign, pick up pieces of litter and tag/go to @ecoclub.slhs to learn more for an opportunity to win a $50 gift card!
