Instead of being flashy and headline grabbing, signing Curry is a clever move and a steady addition the Warriors need to rebuild their identity. In his debut, Curry went 6-for-7 from the court scoring 14 points off the bench, which shows that he can contribute immediately and fill a role the Warriors have struggled with recently. 

Signing Curry is a good move not only because of his ability to shoot, but how well he fits into the Warriors’ system. Golden State has always thrived on spacing the floor and creating open shots through ball movement. Curry is a perfect fit for this approach. He can provide a steady hand and help maintain the offensive flow when the team needs it the most. The Warriors have often lacked the kind of consistent shooters they used to rely on, but Curry can help with that. His shooting will open up the floor for players like Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler, which gives the team another player who can stretch defenses and knock down shots from that shooting range. 

This addition also becomes more important when you look at the inconsistency from some of the current rotation players, specifically Brandin Podziemski. If Podziemski continues to struggle or doesn’t develop at a pace the team needs, the Warriors could explore trading him. His youth and potential still hold value around the league, but I don’t think Podziemski belongs on the Warriors.

He isn’t going to demand a huge role or heavy minutes, but he will bring value through his experience and ability to hit shots when the team needs it. The Warriors have been inconsistent at times, especially with scoring and defending, but adding a veteran who understands his role and can execute within the system is exactly what they need. There is no pressure for him to be a star, his role is clear and that’s why he is a great fit.
