Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is a horror movie based on the famously known video game series Five Nights at Freddy’s, created by Scott Cawthon. The first video game was released on Aug. 8, 2014, gaining many people’s attention. As the video game started gaining more and more popularity from the media, Cawthon continued to release sequels with new characters, features and events that added to the original storyline of the video game. The games involve multiple frightening jump scares when encountering many of the animatronics such as Bonnie, Chica, Freddy, Foxy and more that are introduced in later sequels. Surviving the night as a security guard at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria is the ultimate goal while also not being reached by any of the murderous animatronics.
The first movie follows this storyline, but it mostly changes some of the details. The movie follows the characters Mike and Vanessa, who are security guards, and Mike’s little sister, Abby. Abby becomes friends with the animatronics, but it soon takes a turn for the worse when they want to turn her into one of them. This is caused by William Afton, who controls the spirits inside of the animatronics.
The second, most recently released movie, takes place a year after the incident at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. Much of the town’s kids have become obsessed with what once was Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria and the animatronics. This causes Abby to want to figure out what happened to her animatronic friends, leading her to an older Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. She then discovers her friends, but in a more renovated and cleaner version. However, these animatronics aren’t like her old friends and without her noticing the potential danger, she helps unleash them outside of the pizzeria and into the human world.
After watching this movie, it deserves a 4/5. Compared to the first movie, this movie included scenes that were scarier and had a few more that contained jumpscares. This movie was pretty suspenseful with the audience never knowing what would happen next, and contained a pretty unexpected plot twist which helped make the movie more interesting. This movie is recommended for fans of the Five Nights at Freddy’s games because it includes more accurate details of the video games. This movie added new characters like Marionette and Balloon Boy, and even hinted at characters from the Five Nights at Freddy’s Sister Location sequel, such as Ballora and Circus Baby. The ending also made this movie worth watching because it left a very intense cliffhanger, creating more excitement for the following movie they will make in the future.
